Biography
Dr. Paul Okullo is a scientist (Ecologist/Conservationist) with National Agricultural Organisation, based at the National Forestry Recourses Research Institute. Dr. Paul received his BSc. and MSc. in Forestry from Makerere University and his Ph.D. in Ecology and Natural Resource Management from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences.
Before taking his position at The Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Dr. Paul lectured at the School of Forestry, Environment and Geographical Sciences, Makerere University, and served in the interdisciplinary research team of the school. He has taught frequently as a visiting Fellow at the College of Veterinary Medicine Animal Resources and Bio-Security, Makerere University and Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, Gulu University.
Dr. Paul's earlier career research accomplishments have earned him grants from African Academy of Sciences (AAS), African Forest Research Network (AFORNET), Environmental Conservation Trust of Uganda (ECOTRUST), Uganda National Council of Science and Technology (UNCST) and the prestigious International Foundation for Science (IFS) research grant.
Dr. Paul’s current research interests revolve around competition-coexistence trade-offs in plant-animal system, resource hot-spots and plant-animal interactions including spatio-temporal ecology of plant-herbivore systems in African savannas. His work has appeared in a number of prestigious academic journals, including Journal of Ecology and Ecology.
